“Traffic congestion, is one of those issues of the
city, in which we need to build the resilience. Awareness on this issue in the
people of city, is the prime requirement of the current time.” Says Hon’ble Mayor of
the City, Smt. Asmitaben Shiroya as the first citizen of the city.
Hon’ble Mayor, not only as the first citizen of the
city, but also as a ‘Surti’, has deep and sincere concern for the environmental
protection of the city. She has been actively involved in various programmes
for environmental protection and conservation, including 100RC.
Hon’ble Mayor, for the solving the traffic issues of
city, stresses on two major points.
First, she appeals the citizen of the city, to use
bicycle or walking, for short distances. She firmly believes that such attitude,
will not only save the fuel, but also with contribute positively in solving
traffic congestion issues, and also would contribute towards green environment
by reducing the harmful effects of fossil fuels.
“Such things are small things, but they contribute to
a great extent in solving the problems.” Says Hon’ble Mayor.
Second, and equally more important thing is to use
mass transportation facility more. The city is going to increase the numbers
and frequency of BRTS buses in very near future, and it is desired that more
and more people adopt mass transportation as their daily mode of
transportation.
Hon’ble Mayor has shown full confidence in the citizen
of our city and their will to make our Surat better…..

Very Nice Thinking... surely People including myself prefer to use bicycle, walk, BRTS, Surat city Bus on Priority in Very near Future...
